Obituary of Aileen V. McDaris Penly Aileen V. Penly (nee McDaris), age 96, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Medina Memorial Hospital. Born July 1, 1916 in Lockport, NY, Aileen is the daughter of the late Theron and Bessie (nee Merrill) McDaris. Aileen married Lester A. Penly December 8, 1945 at the Quaker Road Methodist church in Gasport. Mr. Penly died August 12, 1991. She was a Niagara County 4-H Leader for many years. Aileen had worked as a school bus driver for Ridge Road Express. She loved roses, especially the ones in her garden. Surviving are her daughters: Beatrice (Bruce) Potter of Hilton, NY and June (Jerry) Boone of Portland, Oregon. Aileen was predeceased by a son, Calvin Penly. Grandmother to: 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Sister of: Jane E. Luckman of Eustis, Florida and the late Merrill McDaris. Several nieces and nephews also survive her. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery, Gasport, NY. Arrangements entrusted to the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home.
