Albert "Chris" Prawel

Albert “Chris” Prawel, 76, of Gasport, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on August 15th, 2023. He was born January 18, 1947 in Medina, the son of the late Carlton Sr. and Blanche (Fish) Prawel, and was a lifelong resident of the area.

Chris was a faithful member of Freedom Church in Lockport and was a volunteer with the Reflections Ministry for over 25 years. Chris worked at Harrison Radiator for over 30 years, after retiring from Harrison, he was church handyman for over 20 years. In addition to enjoying woodworking, his pets and spreading the word of the Lord, he was a devoted father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family, friends and helping others.

He is predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years Patricia (nee Yaxley) Prawel and his siblings Phyllis, Carlton, Maryellen and Evelyn Smith.

He is survived by his five children, Kelly (Mark) DiMartile of Lockport, Stephanie (Adam) Schifferle of Middleport, Christian (Rebekkah) Prawel of Gasport, David Prawel of Lockport and Jordan Prawel of Lockport; a brother, John Prawel of Florida; seven grandchildren, Nick (Kelsey Brady) DiMartile, Jenna (Justin) Crawford, Madison, Bailey and Eve Barnes-Prawel, Quinn and Maxwell Schifferle; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Chris’ life will be held on Saturday, August 19th at 3:00pm at Freedom Church, 5676 Beattie Ave., Lockport. Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family.

Chris’ arrangements have been entrusted to the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home of Gasport, NY.
