Obituary of Alex "Mac" Theodorakos Albion: Alex "Mac" Theodorakos age 90, died September 23, 2013 at the Batavia VA Medical Center. He was born March 21, 1923 in Albion a son of the late Kostas "Gus" and Stavroula "Stella" (Lagos) Theodorakos. Mac was a graduate of Albion High School class of 1941 and later attended Alfred & Penn State Universities. Mac was a lifelong resident of Albion and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, life member and Melvin Jones Fellow of the Albion Lions Club and also a life member of the B.P.O.Elks Albion Lodge #1006. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WW II as a Ball Turret Gunner in a B17 Flying Fortress. He was present on the Island of Tinian during the loading of the atomic bomb "Little Boy" on the B29 flying Superfortress "Enola Gay." Mac was employed at the Albion Branch of Marine Midland Bank for 291/2 years as Vice President of consumer loans and then went on to work for Permanent Savings Bank of Niagara Falls. After retirement Mac worked with his son Jim at Morrison Reality. Mac was always very community oriented and coached Little League baseball, Pop Warner football and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was predeceased by his wife Harriet in 1995; brothers, Nick, Pete, Jim; sister, Margaret Katsampes. He is survived by his sons, James (Peggy) Theodorakos of Albion, Paul (Joan) Theodorakos of Troy, PA., Peter (Cathleen) Theodorakos of Broomfield CO., Michael (Brenda) Theodorakos of Golden CO., 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, John Gurney of Albion; sisters-in-law Nancy Earnst of Jamestown, Margaret Theodorakos of Albion; several nieces, nephews, cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave, Albion, Thursday from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-9:00. Mac's Funeral Service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church Friday at 11:00am. Interment with military honors at Mt. Albion Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 26 S.
