Obituary of Alexander M. Egloff (Albion)
Alexander Michael Egloff, age 89, formerly of East Lee Road, passed away 1/8/2017 in The Villages of Orleans following a brief illness. He was born 2/11/1927 in Batavia and was a life-long resident of the Barre area. He was a 1946 graduate of Albion Central School and worked for several different farmers throughout the years working the fields. Alex also worked for the Town of Barre managing the ‘wing’ on the snow plow. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman and snowmobiler. His passion was to mow his lawn and to spend time in his garden. Mr. Egloff was predeceased by his sister: Mary Driesel, sister-in-law, Helen Egloff, his nephew Joseph and niece Teresa. He is survived by his siblings: Florence Egloff of Barre, Edward Egloff of Barre, nieces and nephews: Connie Driesel of Kent, Gerard(Laura)Driesel of Lyndonville, Anna(David)West of Erie, PA, Karl(Sue)Driesel of Barre, Rose Egloff of Rome, NY, Ed(Sarah)Egloff of CO, Alex(Mary Teresa Shaffer)Egloff of Barre, John Egloff of Barre, Mary Ann(Pat)Lewis of TN, Ben Egloff of Barre, Margaret(Matt)Libert of IL, as well as several grand nephews and grand nieces. There are no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to meet at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church for Alex’s Mass of Christian Burial FRIDAY at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Holy Family Parish, 106 S. Main St., Albion, NY, 14411, or The Ladies of Charity in c/o Holy Family Parish.
