Obituary of Alfred M. Gramps Schiavone Alfred was a lifelong resident of the Clarendon-Holley area and lived in the home he was so proud of until his death. He was retired from the Duffy Mott Company. He was known for his expertise at landscaping; particularly trimming his trees. He continued to be able to work in his yard, even figuring how to use his walker to assist him up to the time he died. He was proud of his Italian heritage, his children and grandchildren. He loved to eat, drink wine, work hard and tell stories about his past. He was recently honored with a huge 100th birthday celebration this summer with all his family, he rode in the Clarendon Bicentennial Parade, as the oldest living resident in the town and was featured in an article in the Suburban News and the Clarendon Gazette. He was also featured in the Remembering Celebration of Clarendon's Bicentennial published by the Clarendon Historical Society. He would tell you that his secret to his longevity was work, work and more work, garlic and red wine.
