Alice M. Baldwin Sewar

Obituary of Alice M. Baldwin Sewar Alice M. Sewar (Baldwin), age 90, formerly of Chestnut Ridge Road, Lockport, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Absolut of Gasport. Born December 13, 1920 in Lockport, Alice was the daughter of Leroy Baldwin and Reva (Luckman) Mudd. Alice married Frank H. Sewar on January 7, 1939 in Wolcottsville. They had been married for 65 years. Mr. Sewar predeceased her on October 20, 2004. She had worked at Baldwin Beauty Shop in Lockport for 6 years during the 1940’s. Alice enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlework, reading and dancing with her husband at the Ship and Shore Restaurant. She had lived in Lockport since 2005, previously of Royalton. Alice is survived by her sons: Jack (Shirley) Sewar of Clearwater, FL, Kenneth (Mary) Sewar of Wilson, James (Carol) Sewar of Middleport and Gene (Eva Wood) Sewar of Rochester. Sister of: Janet DeLoach of Inverness, Florida and the late Donald L. Baldwin. Six grandchildren: Sandy, Marc, Michele, Gregory, Christopher and Lesley and five great grandchildren survive her. A niece, Betty Russell Smith, also survives Alice. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport on Monday from 2-6 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 11:00 am with the Reverend Cheryl Brown officiating. Interment will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria, NY.
