Obituary of Armelle B. Ward Armelle B. Ward of Middleport passed away Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Medina Memorial Healthcare System. Mrs. Ward was born in Manhattan, New York on December 23, 1919 daughter of the late Morris and Gabrielle (Gonnin) Kammer. She and her husband LaVern "Bud" Ward were married September 24, 1941 in Long Island, NY. Mrs. Ward was employed at Fisher Price retiring in l980. She was a member of Hartland Bible Church and she enjoyed reading, singing, embroidery, Bible reading and playing Scrabble. She was predeceased by her husband LaVern "Bud" Ward in l997, a sister Maude Pinson and a brother David Kammer. She is survived by three children Gary (Lavonne) Ward of California, Linda (William) Laskey of Gasport and Laurie (Arthur) Newton of Medina; four grandchildren Heather Ward of California, Stacy (Andrew) Silker, Scott Newton, Seth Newton all of Medina; four great grandchildren Brianna Newton, Daniel Newton both of Indiana, Alenna Silker and Braden Silker both of Medina. Also surviving are two sister-in-laws Lillian Ward of Appleton and Helen Kammer of Niagara Falls and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 AM at Hartland Bible Church with the Rev. Jonathan Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery.
