Obituary of Arnold A. Tower Albion:Arnold A. Tower, age 88, died 6/6/2017 in The Village of Orleans following a brief illness. He was born 6/30/1928 in the Town of Barre to Norris and Dimple (Counts) Tower and had been a life-long resident of this area. During Arnold’s lifetime he was a member of several organizations including the Boys Scout Troop #60 as Scoutmaster, Cornell Cooperative Extension 4-H program where he was a charter member, a 4-H Club Leader and a Board member, the Albion First Presbyterian Church, the Spinning Wheels Square Dancing Club and was co-founder of the former Tower, Starkweather and Tower Construction. Arnold also was a Teamster, driving 22 years for Starkweather Freight Lines. He helped build and was very active in the activities of The Santa Claus School with Charlie Howard. Arnold also was a 4-wheeler enthusiast, attended the Albion United Methodist Church, enjoyed hunting, camping and loved horses. His first love however, was tending to the family farm and of course, telling a good story to anyone who would listen. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Marjorie: his sons: John (Fran) Tower of Albion, Richard (Ann) Tower of Albion, his daughter: Susan (Joe) Barlog of Pavilion, his brother: Harry “Mick” (Elizabeth)Tower of Albion, 7 grandchildren: Mark, Bill(Erin), Matthew, Sonya (Chad), Molly (Jimmy), Duane (Leah), Josh (Kameko), 8 great grandchildren: Tyiler, Blake, Jackson, Boe, Kayda, Dallas, Ethan, Quentin as well as 1 niece and 5 nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, TUESDAY from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. where his Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. immediately following visitation.
