Obituary of Arthur (Dick) Benedict Eddy Arthur (Dick) Benedict Eddy age 89, died April 24, 2011 at the Medina Memorial Hospital, Comprehensive Medical Rehabilitation. He was born August 31, 1921 in Albion a son of the late Sidney & Josephine (Benedict) Eddy. He was a ruling elder, deacon and trustee of the First Presbyterian Church of Albion. Dick graduated from Albion High School class of 1939 and Cornell University with a Mechanical Engineering Degree in 1943. He served in the US Army during WW II and was stationed in Natal Brazil. Dick was president of Eddy Printing from 1949 to 1976, when he sold the business to Robert Remley. He worked for Remley for 10 years, acting as vice president. He joined the Rotary Club of Albion in 1947 and was a Paul Harris Fellow, the highest award in Rotary, he also had over 60 years of perfect attendance. Dick was the first campaign chair of the United Fund (now United Way) for Eastern Orleans, was the former Chairman of the Orleans County Legislature and a former member of the Oak Orchard Yacht Club. Dick along with his wife Susan liked to travel and had visited over 40 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.
