Obituary of Arthur F. Gould (GAINES)
Arthur F. Gould, age 92 formerly of Ridge Road, died 10/25/2016 in the Batavia Health Care Center following a brief illness. He was born 8/17/1924 in Albion to Mike and Lottie(Radac)Gould and was a lifetime resident of this area. Art was a retired mechanic for Kodak and was a self-employed Small Equipment Mechanic for over 40 years. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII, a member of St. Joseph’s Church, the Hook and Ladder Company of Albion Fire Department, the Albion Fire Department, the Albion Fire Department Fire Police, the Sheret Post American Legion, a life-member of the Disabled Veterans Post of Medina, the St. Mary’s Athletic Club, and was a Little League Manager for many years for the St. Mary’s Club. He was also one of the originators and Hunter Safety Instructors of and for the St. Mary’s Archer’s Club. In addition, Art also was a former member of the Medina Moose, Albion Sportsman Club, the Carlton Snow Drifters, and the Western New York Volunteer Fireman’s Association. He was predeceased by his wife Helen and his brothers: Frank, Edward, John and Leonard Gould. He is survived by his children: Kathleen Klein of Medina, Ronald Gould of Holley, Robert Gould of CA, 4 grandchildren, several great and great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, FRIDAY 1-3pm where his Funeral Service will be held following visitation at 3pm. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Albion Fire Department, 108 N. Platt St., Albion, NY, 14411, COVA, 239 S.
