Beatrice A. Benfer

Beatrice A. Benfer, age 87, died peacefully in her home December 15, 2023 while under the care of Hospice of Orleans. She was born April 15, 1936 in Beavertown, PA to Charles and Helen (Hendricks) Brouse and had lived in this area most of her life.

She enjoyed baking, especially chocolate chip cookies but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Benfer was predeceased by her husband John, as well as a baby boy and several of her brothers and sisters.

Beatrice is survived by her children: Edward (Mattea Vella) Benfer, Derwin (Ilene) Benfer, John (Nora) Benfer, Edwina (Thomas) St. Pierre, her brother: Harold (Salvanna) Brouse, her sister: Betty (Glenn) Houtz, her grandchildren: Jeff, John, Ashleigh, Brooke, Bobby, Jason, Yvonne, her great-grandchildren: Natalie, Jonny, Adelyn, Maci, Richard IV, Damon, Anna as well as several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours and a private service and interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Transit Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Hospice of Orleans, 14080 Rt. 31 W, Albion, NY, 14411. Beatrice’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home of Albion.
