Obituary of Ben Walford Jr. Albion: Ben Walford Jr., 83, passed away peacefully December 14, 2019 at The Villages of Orleans. He was born July 28, 1936 in Sumter County, Georgia and had lived in the area most of his life. Ben was a former employee of T.J. Lipton and Orleans Community Action. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Doshia (Brown) Walford; sisters, Betty Walford-Moye, Mattie Walford-Sames; his brother: Ralph Walford anddaughter, Doris C. Smith. He is survived by his sister, Irene Walford-Manuel; life-long companion, Lizzie L. Smith; grandsons, Carl Ben Ross III, Christopher L. Smith, Chaz Dennis Ross; nieces and nephews, Pamela Manuel, Kimberly Manuel, Kenneth Manuel, Linda Burks, Charles Burks, Michael, Mitchell, Derren,Devita, Victor Sames, Anthony Walfordand several friends. Ben’s Funeral Service will be held at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue, Albion, on Friday December 20, at 11:00am. Interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery.
