Obituary of Bennie Lee Mitchell Mitchell, Bennie Lee, 77 (Duck), Albion, NY, born in Browns, AL (Dallas County) passed July 11, 2016, peacefully at Resort Nursing Home of Arverne, NY-Queens. He passed away after a short battle of lung cancer. He gave it a very good fight but God worn on Monday-July 11, 2016; when He called him home. Bennie was the oldest of 18 children of Bennie Lee (Mattie Mae Hollis) Mitchell, Sr. both of which have preceded him in death. He was the husband of Margaret Epps Mitchell, which have preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-laws, Vernell (Vernon) Crenshaw, Sr.; Albertville, AL.; Cynthia Odell (Sedrick) Smith, Adamsville, AL.; Sharon (Dennis) Fluker, Orrville, AL.; Tiffany (James) Smith, Albion, NY. 14-Grands, and 14 Great-Grands. Seven sisters Fannie Mitchell, Ruth Watts, Naomi George all of Detroit, MI; Mary Martin, Hartselle, AL; Lena Mitchell, Yvonne Mitchell of Houston, TX; Willie Mae Harris, Mobile, AL.. Five brothers Joe (Doreen) Mitchell, Ernest Mitchell both of Birmingham, AL; Frank (Yvonne) Mitchell, Selma, AL. ; Paul Mitchell, Orrville, AL. ; and Ray Mitchell, Savanah, GA. And a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue, Albion, Saturday July 16, from 1:00-2:00, followed by Bennie’s Funeral Service at the funeral Home at 2:00pm.
