Obituary of Betty Boyer Betty R. Boyer passed away at Life Care Center of New Port Richey, FL on Thursday, September 14, 2017. The cause was respiratory failure. She was 94. Betty was preceeded in death by her husband Emanuel (Manny) Boyer who passed in 1990. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on May 6, 1923, she lived most of her life in Orleans County including Kent, Albion and Barre Center. Betty graduated from Albion High School, class of 1941. In her elder years she primarily resided in Florida, with some time with her children in both Alabama and Minnesota. Betty’s survivors include a sister, Maryann Becker of Kent. She had 9 children; Betty-Alice (Edgar) Almeida of Ft. Wayne, IN, Gail Boyer(dec.), Diane (Jack) Thomas of Port Orange, FL, Emanuel(dec.) (Cheryl) Boyer of Barre, Virginia (Gar) Truselle of Albion, George (Beverly) Boyer of Mulberry, FL, Stephen Boyer(dec.), Lynette (Mark) Versace of Tuscaloosa, AL and Thomas (Carrie) Boyer of Port Richey, FL. She had 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Barre Fire Company.
