Obituary of Betty Cooper Albion: Betty Ann Cooper age 73, died February 8, 2014 at Strong Memorial Hospital. She was born August 10, 1940 in Bainbridge GA., a daughter of the late Willis and Lillie Mae (Williams) Clary. Betty had lived in this area since 1956 and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Batavia. She was a foster mother for several years and had cared for numerous children. Betty enjoyed crocheting, sitting on her front porch and being around young people. But most of all, Betty loved her family and her church family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Willie David Cooper in 2001. She is survived by her loving children, Gary D. (Mattie) Cooper of Batavia, Brenda J. (Lyle) Gabrielson of Albion, Patricia A. (Nathaniel) Cooper-Williams of Albion, Victoria (Jeffrey) Elsenheimer of Albion, Willie Mae Cooper of Albion; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, foster children and many friends; sister-in-law, Nadine Doctor of Lockport.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue, Albion, Friday from 5:00-8:00. Betty's Funeral Service will be held at the Albion First Presbyterian Church 29 E. State St. Saturday at 11:00am. Interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery.
