Obituary of Calkins Jr Albion- Herbert A. Calkins Sr, 62, passed away at Lakeside Memorial Hospital on Monday, December 12, 2011 after a long illness. He was born in Albion, NY, the son of Herbert Calkins and the late Mary Calkins (Jenks) and has been a lifetime resident of this area. He was employed at P.D. Ricci in Carlton, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. Along with his Father Herbert (Lou Schultz) Calkins of Murray, he is survived by his wife Faye; 4 Children, Tamara (Teresa) Calkins of Leroy, John (Patricia) Calkins of Florida, Russell (Jennifer) Calkins of Albion and Dennis (Tammy Kuhns) Calkins of Elba; 15 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary (William) Furness of Kent, Georgianna (Gerald) Muhs of Morton; 1 Brother Dennis (Valerie) Calkins of Canandaigua; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his mother and son Herbert Jr. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, 12 Ingersoll St. Albion, NY 14411 and again on Friday, from 11a-2pm, with services immediately following.
