Carl H. ‘Sonny’ Sargent passed away peacefully after a brief illness in his home in South Carolina with family by his side. He was born September 21, 1934 in Albion, NY to the late Carl Wayne & Marie (Robinson) Sargent.
He retired from Kodak as a molding technician. He belonged to Holy Family Catholic Parish – St. Joseph’s Church in Albion and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Sonny dedicated considerable time to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul, although golfing may have been his greatest passion.
Sonny was predeceased by his beloved wife Patricia (Rice) Sargent of 59 years; and siblings Patricia, Betty, Shirley, Peggy & William.
He is survived by his children Kevin (Pam) Sargent of Albion and Karla (Dave) Goddard of Greenville, SC; Granddaughter Stefanie (Jimmy) Peruzzini; Grandson Phillip Sargent; great-grandchildren Kendall & Kamryn Peruzzini; along with many nieces and nephews.
A mass at Holy Family Parish in Albion, NY followed by interment at Mt. Albion Cemetery will be delayed to the Spring of 2025.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations/memorials may be made to local Meals on Wheels [arcglow.org] or local charity or animal shelter.
Sonny’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home in Albion.
