Obituary of Carmen Irene Henderson Carmen Irene Henderson of Wilson, formerly of Fort Payne, AL, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2019. She was born March 9, 1929 in Fort Payne, AL to the late Jesse and Audrey (Smith) Stephens. Carmen worked for over 25 years at Abbott Laboratories as a Quality Control Inspector. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and she especially liked lilies and roses. As of late, she became a Star Trek fan and always enjoyed listening to her bluegrass and gospel music. Carmen spent time riding around on her son-in-law’s golf cart around the property, loved seeing her grandkids and go on cruises to the Caribbean and Hawaii. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Raymond in 2007, son Ray in 2001, grandson, Paul in 1981, brothers, Willard and Virgil. Carmen is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Matthew) Perry, sisters, Iva Lee and Loretta Twilly, daughter-in-law, Madonna Henderson, grandchildren, Mark (Stacey), Christina Williams, Kerra, Jaycox, great-grandchildren, Will, Ray, Tyler, Izayah, Amelia, Sebastian, Chloe, Claire, Tommy, Vincenzo, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Ave. Newfane, NY 14108, on Monday, April 8th from 7:00-9:00pm where her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 9th, at 11:00am. Interment will be held in Acacia Park Cemetery.
