Middleport: Carol “Grumpy” Dimon, age 83, passed away peacefully after a short illness on February 28, 2024 at Buffalo General Hospital. She was born December 24, 1940 in Buffalo to the late Edward and Germaine Grabenstatter.
Carol attended school in Akron and then went on to the University of Buffalo earning an associate degree. She taught third grade at Sacred Heart School in Buffalo. She was very talented artistically and enjoyed doing needle work, ceramics and painting, teaching a painting class in Barker for over 10 years as well. Carol worked for over 20 years with the Red Cross and more than 30 years for Opportunities Unlimited, providing care for disabled adults. She was an active member of County Line Country Church.
Carol was predeceased by her husband Jeff, and beloved grandson, Charles Schramm.
Carol is survived by her children, Bryan (Amy Gow) Dimon, Lora (Scott) Schramm Sr., grandchildren, Stacey Schramm, Scott (Kiersten) Schramm Jr., Byron Gow, Maggie Quackenbush, loving niece, Deanna Quackenbush as well as other family and friends.
A memorial service for Carol will be held at the County Line Country Church 1385 County Line Rd, Lyndonville, NY, 14098 on Sunday, March 10th at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church for the Seneca St. Mission in Buffalo, and mailed to P.O. Box 202 Barker, NY 14012.
Carol’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home of Middleport, NY.
