Carolyn Marie Myers (Merritt)

Carolyn M. Myers, 74 of Gasport, passed away suddenly January 22, 2022 at Buffalo General Hospital.  She was born December 8, 1947 in Ogdensburg, NY a daughter of the late Lawrence and Jean (Thornton) Merritt.  Carolyn was a longtime volunteer firefighter for Hartland Fire Co. and most recently was serving as President.  She retired from Lockport energy Association.  Carolyn will be remembered as a loving and caring individual, always going out of her way to help.  She was greatly loved by all that knew her.

She was predeceased by her husband James A. Myers in 2005.  She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia “Tia” Hillman and Jayne (Donnie) Riley; granddaughters, Angel (Kyle Boyer) Hillman, Julianne (Timothy) Leising, Jessica Hillman, Triston Riley and Courtney Riley; great-grandchildren, Christina parsons, Benjamin Boyer, Addison Leising, Xahria Leising and Claire Wissinger; loving companion, David O’Hara and several siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.

The family will receive friends at the Hartland Volunteer Fire Co. 8945 Ridge Rd. Gasport, NY 14067 on Monday January 31, from 11:00-1:00, followed by her funeral service at 1:00pm.  Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hartland Volunteer  Fire Co.

Carolyn’s arrangements have been entrusted to Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main St. Gasport.
