Obituary of Carolyn I. Shawver Carolyn I. Shawver, age 74, died August 28, 2016 at Unity Hospital following a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was born December 5, 1941 in Albion, a daughter of the late Homer and Marjorie (Ellis) Miles and had lived in this area all of her life. Carolyn had retired after working many years in the cafeteria at the Albion Middle School. She loved watching car races, especially when her husband Jerry was racing. She loved frogs and was an avid collector, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Judy DiMartino. She is survived by her husband Jerry of 51 years; her son Grant (Cindy Elam) Shawver of Albion; her daughter Dawn (Mary) Shawver-Guzik of Albion; her grandson Garrison; her brother Gary “Sport” Miles of TX as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave. Albion on Friday September 2nd, 5:00pm-7:00pm where her Funeral Service will follow at 7pm. Burial will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery on Saturday September 3rd at 9:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Action Transportation (C.A.T.S.) 409 East State St. Albion NY 14411.
