Cathy Lynn Michalak (DePoy)

Lockport: Cathy L. Michalak, 62, passed away September 24, 2021 following a long illness. Cathy was born April 20, 1959 in Sutton, W. VA., the daughter of Bruce DePoy and the late Betty (Leavitt) Skutt. Cathy graduated from Niagara Community College with her LPN Certificate and was a former employee of Briody Nursing Home in Lockport. Cathy loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest.

She was predeceased by her brother David DePoy and husband Chester Michalak.

Cathy is survived by her children, Gennee (Jason) Burgett, Harry (Jennifer) Bisher and Karl Fitzner, all of Lockport, siblings, Lois (John) Voelker of Rushford, Janet (John) Green of Barker, Cherie (Eric) Darling of Sarasota, FL., Tina (Vernon) Parsons of Lakeland FL., several grandchildren, step-children, nieces, nephews, cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main St. Gasport on Friday October 8, from 5:00-7:00pm. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
