Obituary of Charles R. Prentice (Albion) Charles R. “Charlie” Prentice age 80 died February 4, 2018 at the NYS Veterans Home in Batavia surrounded by his family. He was born October 9, 1937 in Union Center, NY, a son of the late Raymond and Louise (Henrickson) Prentice and had lived in this area since 1964. Charlie served in the US Army from 1959-1961. He was a member of the Barre Center Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon, Elder and Clerk of Session. He was a member of the NRA and he was also a member and secretary for the Albion Rod and Gun Club. Charlie worked at General Motors as a tool maker and a supervisor, retiring in 1996. He loved hunting, woodworking, dogs and camping; especially at Letchworth State Park. Charlie had coached Bentley Brothers women softball team for several years. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Raymond (Barbara) Prentice. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy; his children Charles “Chuck” (Laural) Prentice of Albion, Thomas (Marybeth) Prentice of Cookevill TN, Kim (Rosanne) Salerno of Sanborn NY; grandchildren Desiree, Keith, Timothy, Erik, Branden, Jeffrey, Tia, Steven, Colby, Taylor, Haillie; great-grandchildren Alex, Skye, Jenna, Trevor, Tori, Kendall, Khloe, Cameron, Addison as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave. Albion on Thursday 5:00pm-8:00pm. His Funeral Service will be Friday February 9th at 11:00am at the Barre Center Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
