Obituary of Charles Dennis Vincent Charlie attended Newfane school system and Barber College in Buffalo, NY. He had worked for Lockport Motors in the 60’s and General Motors (Harrison Division) in Lockport, retiring after 35 years of service to the company. Throughout his life Charlie was very active in baseball, bingo at the Elk’s, cooking, fishing, hunting, and boy scouts. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. He was a member of Hartland United Methodist Church and an honorary member of Clinton Street United Methodist church. Charles was also a member of Miller Hose Fire Company and #41 Elks’ Club of Lockport where he was Elk of the Year. Surviving is his wife of 34 years, Elaine (Wilson) Vincent of Lockport, daughters: Carol (Charles) Hoy of Newfane, Theresa Fry of Bessemer, Alabama, Sherry Dimsey (Carl) of Lockport, Heather Vincent (David) of Lockport and a son: Captain Clifton John (Judy) Vincent of Hopewell, Virginia. Brother of: James (Loretta) Vincent of Lockport, Leland (late Joanne) Vincent of Rochester, Keirn (Linda) Vincent of Lockport, Fayetta (Richard) Liddell of Newfane and the late: Mavis Winkley. Step father of: Sonja Holtz. Son-in-law of: Janet D. Wilson of Gasport. Charlie is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held at Hartland United Methodist Church, 8017 Ridge Road, Gasport, NY at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 with the Pastors Cheryl Brown and Mary Martin officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elderwood Health Care at Oakwood, 200 Bassett Road, Williamsville, NY 14221 or to the American Heart Association.
