Obituary of Chester Chet DiPalma (ALBION)
Chester "Chet" DiPalma, age 82 of East Herrick Street, died January 10, 2009 following a short illness. He was born June 28, 1926 in Albion to Elmer and Lucy(Mannella)DiPalma and was a lifetime resident of this area. Mr. DiPalma was a United States Army Veteran of WWII having served in the European Theater of Operations. Chet worked for many years at Dock's Floors in Albion and was co-owner of Dugan Shoe Store with the late Guido Mannella. Mr. DiPalma was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph's Church, a life member of the VFW, worked many years as a Hospice Volunteer where he called Bingo, and was an honorary member of the Albion Fire Department. Chet loved to hunt, fish, bowl and golf. Woodworking was one of his hobbies and he made many Blue Bird Houses for the Orleans County Blue Bird Society.
