Clara R. Gavenda

Obituary of Clara R. Gavenda Albion: Clara R. Gavenda, 87, passed away July 16, 2018 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute following a long illness. Clara was born September 2, 1930 in Genesee County, a daughter of the late Frank and Nellie (Polack) Gavenda. She was a member of Holy Family Parish/St. Joseph’s Church and the Ladies of Charity. Clara was a former employee of T.J. Lipton and a member of the Lipton Retirees. Miss Gavenda enjoyed bowling, golf and was an avid Yankeesfan. She was predeceased by her siblings, Walter Gavenda, Carl Gavenda, Edward Gavenda, Martha Duffy, Anna Scupien, Jennie Kaminski, Frank Gavenda, Ralph Gavenda, Stanley Gavenda and Mary Gavenda. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Millie Gavenda and Joyce Gavenda; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue, Albion, Sunday July 22, from 1:00-3:00. Clara’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish/St. Joseph’s Church, Monday July 23, at 10:00am. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans, P.O. Box 489 Albion, NY 14411.
