(ALBION/KENT)
Damon C. Benfer, age 23, died suddenly December 20, 2023 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born June 9, 2000 in Medina, a son of Jeff Benfer and Maria (Brabon) Vaillancourt and was a life-long resident of this area.
He was a 2018 graduate of Albion Central School and worked as a mechanic at George’s Fancher Road Service. Damon was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, sunrises, sunsets, lived for anything he could ride or drive and was a master at doing burn-outs. He also loved animals, especially his dogs: “Saint” and “Karma”. Above all, Damon was a person who could light up a room just by walking in. He could bring a smile to anyone’s face with his humor and shenanigans no matter how bad of a day a person was having.
In addition to his parents Jeff and Maria, Damon is survived by his siblings: Anna (Christian) Green of KS, Isaac Becker of Albion, his God-children: Audra and Jonathan Albone, his grandparents: Derwin (Ilene) Benfer of Hamlin, Ernie (Gail) Brabon of Barre, his nephew: Colton Nichols, his cousins: Isabel and Susannah Benfer as well as countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, especially The Barn Boys.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, 21 West Avenue-Albion, THURSDAY 12/28/23 from 2-4pm where his funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 4pm. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, 2121 K. Street NW, Suite 20, Washington, DC, 20037.
