Obituary of Daniel E. Geiger Jr. Albion: Daniel E. Geiger Jr. 92, passed away February 1, with his loving family by his side at Unity Hospital. Dan was born January 31, 1927 in Syracuse, NY a son of the late Daniel and Margaret Geiger. Dan served in the United States Navy during WW II and the United States Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Bronze Star. Mr. Geiger was a New York State Trooper from 1957-1977, stationed in A Troop and was Vice President of the N.Y.S Police Union. Dan was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Albion Council #1330 Knights of Columbus and a member of the St. Joan of Arc Assembly 4th Degree. He was also a member of the B.P.O.Elks #1006 and the St. Mary’s Athletic Club. Mr. Geiger was always busy, but always found time to be with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters, Nancy Geiger, Mary Swindon; brother, James Geiger. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty; children, Anne Andrus, Theresa (Nick) Christopher, Daniel (Karen) Geiger and Michael (Kellie) Geiger; grandchildren, Lindsey (Nathaniel Poole) Geiger, Elizabeth (Kyle) Anderson, Amanda (Bobby Potter) Geiger, Katherine (Mark) Driesel, ChristinaGeiger and Brooke Andrus; great-grandchildren, Damion and Ariana Lattimer, Bailey and Brycen Potter; siblings, Helen Lent, Anne Kellner and Joan Riddell; sisters-in-law, Jean Geiger, Shirley Pahuta, Jane Pahuta, Alice McCullough. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue, Albion, on Wednesday February 6, from 4:00-8:00. Prayers will be said at the Funeral Home on Thursday February 7, at 9:30am followed by Dan’s Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church at 10:00am. Interment with Military Honors at Mt. Albion Cemetery.
