Daniel J. Janus

Obituary of Daniel J. Janus Waterport: Daniel J. Janus, age 83, died 8/2/2017 in The Villages of Orleans following a long illness. He was born 2/28/1934 in Cheektowaga to Leon and Pearl (Mazurkiewicz) Janus and had lived in this area over 70 years. Dan was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War, a member of Holy Family Parish, and was a person who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time outdoors.He also enjoyed ‘puttering’ especially with cars and tractors. Mr. Janus was predeceased by his wife Joan, and his brothers: Robert and Richard. He is survived by his sons: Mike (Cindy) Janus of Albion, David Janus of Albion, daughters: Liz Janus of Waterport, Chris (Arnie) Janus of CO, 2 grandchildren: David and Seth Janus, several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog: “Oscar”. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, MONDAY from 4-7. Family and friends are invited to attend Dan’s Mass of Christian Burial TUESDAY 10 a.m. in Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church.Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1120 S. Goodman Street, Rochester, NY, 14620.
