Obituary of Darwin Gemerek (HOLLEY)
Darwin R. "Dick" Gemerek, age 78 of Geddes Street, died unexpectedly at his residence 10/9/2013. He was born 11/9/1934 in Clarence, NY to Stanley and Mabel (Peck) Gemerek and had been a life-long resident of the area. Mr. Gemerek served in the US Army Reserves from 1955-1961 and retired from Eastman Kodak Company. Dick was a member of the Clarendon Lions Club and a member and 3rd Degree Mason of the former Holley Masonic Lodge. Mr. Gemerek attended Canisius College, was a great story teller, enjoyed fishing, was an avid golfer, a chocoholic, reveled in spending time with his grandchildren and was revered as, "The Best Grandpa Ever!" He is survived by his wife Ann, sons: Mark(Julie), Larry(Ann), Michael(Laurie), Daughters: Ellen(Pat)Beyor, Betsy(DL)Webster, grandchildren: Jennifer Gemerek, Jake Gemerek, Joe Gemerek, Christina Gemerek, Melanie Gemerek, Matthew Gemerek, Emily Gemerek, Erik King, Kari King, Sam Webster, step-grandchildren: Eric Restivo, Misty Cadle, brothers: Robert Gemerek, Allyn(Kay)Gemerek, Sister-in-Law: Ruth Gemerek, In-laws: Harry(Nancy)Emerson, Bill(Barbara)Emerson, Ray(Susan)Emerson, David(Diane)Emerson, Lynda Emerson, 5 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 16650 State Route 31(West Albion Road,)-Holley, SUNDAY 1-3 where Dick's Memorial Service will follow at 3 p.m. Interment in Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Visitation
