Obituary of David L. Eick David L. Eick of Spencerport, formerly of Middleport passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Highlands of Brighton Nursing Home in Rochester, NY.
Mr. Eick was born in Middleport, NY on October 18, 1936 son of the late Loren and Lydia (Frisch) Eick. He grew up in Middleport, was a graduate of Royalton-Hartland High School and also graduated from Erie Tech.
He served in the US Army from 1959 to l962. He was stationed in Texas as a radio operator.
He was employed at Alleghany Technology in Lockport, NY.
Mr. Eick and his first wife Geraldine Eick were married October 6, 1962 and she predeceased him on August 17, 2004.
On July 15, 2006 he married Rita Eick.
Mr. Eick was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and he enjoyed his family, traveling, playing Euchre, working in his electronic workshop and he enjoyed cutting edge technology.
He is survived by his wife Rita Eick, one daughter Julie (Joe) Granchelli of Medina, two granddaughters Sarah and Jessica Granchelli both of Medina, two brothers Eugene (Dolores) Eick of Middleport and Gary (Peggy) Eick of Gasport.
Also surviving are his wife's children Renee and Randy and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Rt. 31, Middleport with the Rev. Peter Lindemann officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Memorials to Holy Cross Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the Eick family.
