Licurse, Jr. Obituary for our Beloved David M.Licurse, Jr. David(Dave)M.Licurse, Jr. bornin Albion, New York,January 24,1965.Hepassed awayfrom cancerat the age of 56 on August 24, 2021,surrounded by family, which is what he desired.He ispre-deceasedby hisfather David M.Licurse, Sr, andis thesonof Patricia (Maloney)Licurse, sisters DebbieLicurseand DeniseLicurse, 2nieces, GabrielleLicurseand Stephanie (Licurse) Austin, 1 nephew (GabrielLicurse) 2 grand nephews and 1grandniece(Justin,Isaiah,and Nevaeh).He shared a residence with his sister Debbie.Davidwas employed byXerox for 30 years and worked at Cooley, in Palo Alto, CA.While working for Xerox and at Cooley, Dave made manyincrediblefriendsthroughout his time there,andwhole-heartedly looked forward to Cooley’s annuallegendaryping pong tournaments. David was a deeply devoted family man and cherished hisfamily, which includes many cousins,aunts,and uncles, as well as friendships, whichhehasenjoyed since childhood.Growing up, David was highly competitive andparticipated in many sports, suchas;baseball, lacrosse,water polo, and golf.David’sFairport High School water polo team went on to winthe New York State championship.He also loved playingdice games,cards,and board games at home with hisfamily over the years.Dave could also be defined by the holidays and was sometimes called “Mr. Holiday” in our family; especially around Christmas when he was consumed by Hallmarks Christmas specials. He maintained longstanding friendships from New York, Texas to California spanning decades. Davidwasforeverdedicated tobeing charitable toward others byquietlylending a handat a moment’s notice, and hadaspecial affection for all sports, babies and pandas.He was a walking encyclopedia when it came to sports. Anyone who knewDave,knew he could simply light up a room with his incredible smile,wit,orastellar ping pong match.Dave was truly thehumble“gentle giant” and accepted people easily.Heleft us much too early and will be profoundly missed by many. We will always love youandremember you fortheveryspecial light you brought into the world.You will remain in our hearts always, Dave.May you rest in peace now. David’s family will receivefriends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue, Albion, NY, on Friday September 10, from 4:00-8:00PM. David’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church on Saturday September 11, at 11:00am. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
