Obituary of David A. Toman (GAINES)
David A. “Davey Crockett” Toman, age 84 of Ridge Road, died 12/6/2016 in Strong Memorial Hospital following complications from a motor vehicle accident. He was born 1/13/1932 in Yuma, MI to Floyd and Zola(Houghtaling)Toman and had lived in this area most of his life. David was a member of the Ashwood Weslyan Church and worked as a mechanic for Severns Automotive in Albion. He enjoyed tinkering with anything mechanical in nature, especially anything with an engine and was also a Buffalo Bills fan. Mr. Toman was predeceased by his first wife Barbara Toman and his second wife Judith Toman. He is survived by his sons: Dennis(Pam)Toman of Clarendon, David(Mariellen)Toman of Clarendon, Matthew(Beth)Reid of RI, daughters: Sally Lusk and Lynn Toman both of Albion, 5 step children including Sheri Burnside, who went above and beyond in assisting David…for which the family is grateful. In addition, Mr. Toman is survived by his brother: Edward Cline of NC, sister: Anne Cline of GA, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, FRIDAY (12/16) from 1-3 where David’s Funeral Service will be held at 3pm immediately following visitation. Interment will be in Otter Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ashwood Weslyan Church, 12540 Platten Road, Lyndonville, NY, 14098.
