Obituary of Delores V. Lowman Barre Center: The Lord opened his arms November 6, 2020, and called Delores Home. She is walking the streets of gold in heaven. Delores was born November 19, 1935 in Albion, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Eleanor (Sibley) Vagg. She was a graduate of Albion High School and the School of Nursing at Rochester General Hospital in 1956. Delores was a Registered Nurse at the Orleans County Nursing Home for many years. She was an active member of Barre Center Presbyterian Church where she was involved in the choir, True Blue Class and the bell choir to name a few. Delores enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, taking care of her home and family gatherings. She will be remembered for her infectious smile, love of family and hard work. Delores was predeceased by her husband Herbert in 1983
She is survived by her daughters, Sherrie (Joe Joe) Gross, Janet (Donald Chamberlin) Rice; grandchildren, Samantha and Victoria; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Joanna and Bailey; brother, Larie (Rita DuMont) Vagg; sister, Donna (James) Sullivan; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue Albion on Friday November 13, from 4:00-8:00. Delores’s funeral service will be private at the Barre Center Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.
