Obituary of Delphina P. Fricke Delphina P. Fricke passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 in Rochester NY having moved back to NY following the passing of her husband Henry R. Fricke. On March 20, 1924 she was born in Holland, a place to which she has frequently traveled. She immigrated to the United Sates with her mother and two sisters on July 28, 1932. Delphina grew up in Glenwood Landing, L.I. NY. Graduating from Roslyn High School she worked as a seamstress and later married Henry R. Fricke. Delphina was active in the AHRC and worked tirelessly for organizations that benefited animals. Upon Henry’s retirement in 1989 they moved from their home in Glenwood Landing to their home in Deltona, Florida. Delphina was a very active member of Deltona Women’s Club and continued in her work for animal rights. Delphina in predeceased by her mother Wilhelmina Hoorn, her father Hendrick Hoorn and her husband Henry R. Fricke (2015). Delphina is survived by her sisters, Wilhelmina Schuster and Margo Thompson; her daughter, Christy Vick (Tom), sons; Robin, John, Gary (Doreen); six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Delphina has requested no formal service. The family request a memorial to Delphina with a contribution to Hospice or animal rights organizations.
