Delvin Ergott Jr.

Obituary of Delvin Ergott Jr. (Carlton) Delvin L. Ergott, Jr. age 74 died July 10, 2014 at The Villages of Orleans. He was born April 30, 1940 in the Town of Gaines, a son of Ruth Ergott Smith and the late Delvin L. Ergott Sr. and had lived in this area all of his life. Delvin graduated from Albion Central School, Class of 1959 and enjoyed helping plan the class reunions. He was employed for 26 years at General Electric/Black and Decker until it closed in 1986. He was a truck driver there for many of those years and drove truck part-time for Starkweather Freight Lines. Delvin loved being a truck driver and loved talking cars. He joined the Carlton Fire Department in 1959 and was a life member. In 1987 he was diagnosed with M.S. and was no longer able to work. He enjoyed morning coffee with the boys for several years until he was no longer able to attend. His biggest love was his 1940 Ford Coupe and his trucks. In addition to his mother Ruth, he is survived by his wife Carol (Morton) Ergott whom he married September 30 1977; his sons Delvin L. (Marci Lapinski) Ergott III of Hilton, Paul A. Ergott of Greensboro NC; his daughter Kathryn (Michael) Gross of Hamlin; 3 grandchildren Delvin L. Ergott IV, Jennie and Katie Ergott; his sisters Deloris (Leon) Standish, Diana (Jason) Jeffords; brother-in-law John (Patricia) Morton plus uncles, aunts and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave. Albion on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 where his Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 11:00am. Burial will be in Mt.
