Donald A. Perry age 96 passed away peacefully at his home on Quaker Rd in Gasport on January 2, 2025. He was born May 16, 1928 in the Town of Hartland, a son of the late Robert and Mildred Perry.

Donald served in the US Army from 1946-1948 with the Occupational Forces in Japan. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Gasport since 1950. He traveled extensively visiting all 7 Continents, often taking his grandchildren with him. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was proud of the success of his children, especially watching the growth of Becker Farms. He earned his PHD in metallurgy from RPI and worked 30 years for Harrison Radiator, where he helped develop air conditioners and heat exchangers. Upon retirement from Harrison Radiator he worked for Occidental Chemical in their energy from waste recycling plant where he developed pulverising hammers which are used in recycling world wide. He volunteered for the Executive Exchange Program where he shared his expertise in metallurgy to aid developing companies in Mexico, Egypt, Kenya, and South Korea. He was active in the community, serving on the Roy-Hart School board and was a member of the Gasport Masons.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Joyce Becker Perry; infant son David; brother Charles (Marjorie) Perry; sister Phyllis (Tony) Harvey.

He is survived by his son Dr. Mark D. (Debi) Perry; daughter Melinda (Oscar) Vizcarra; grandchildren Bryan (Amy) Perry, Drs Gregory (Melissa) Perry, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Perry, Oscar Jr. (Heather) Vizcarra, Amanda (Michael) Lucchino, Andres (Esther) Vizcarra; great-grandchildren Alexandra, Joanna, William, Carter, Aria, Oliver, Emma, Viola, Ruby, Rocco, Romeo, Emelia, Victor, Cecelia as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Zion Lutheran Church, 4447 Central Ave., Gasport NY 14067 on Sunday January 5th from 2:00pm-3:00pm where his Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm with a luncheon to follow. His burial with Military Honors were held at Hartland Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, Gasport. In lieu of flowers, donations to Zion Lutheran Church, Gasport would be appreciated.
