Obituary of Dorothy Chase Blacklock Dorothy Blacklock (Chase), age 104, of Barker, entered into rest on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Absolut Care in Gasport. Born June 14, 1908 in Hartland, Dorothy is the daughter of the late Charles and Maude (Currie) Chase. Dorothy was a graduate of Gasport High School. She married Maurice Blacklock May 10, 1951 at the Homestead in Appleton. Mr. Blacklock died in June of 1965. She had worked at Oakies Drugs in Newfane where she used to do home delivery. Dorothy retired in 1992. She had also worked at East Avenue Lunch in Lockport for over 15 years and Domestic Home Care for a number of years. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, knitting and was an avid card player but she was best known for baking, especially pies. Beloved mother of: Marie Tagg of Lockport, Evelyn Udell of Lockport, Lauren (Ann) Budde of Appleton, Melvin (Jane) Budde of Barker, Sharon (Roy) Pacheko of Lyndonville, Mildred Harris of Niagara Falls and Raymond (Cheryl) Blacklock of Barker. Dorothy was predeceased by 4 children: Gerald, Robert, William and Arthur. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Avenue, Newfane on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 11:00 am from the funeral home. Interment will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery, Newfane, NY.
