Douglas A. Webber, born on March 23, 1950, in Medina, NY to Kermit and Helen (Fuller) Webber. He married his wife, Susan, on August 19, 1977.
He is survived by his son, Barry (Julie) Webber, of Middleport, NY; special grandson, Jackson; brothers, Ronald (Kathy) Webber of Middleport, NY, Wayne Webber of Charlotte, NC, and Dennis (Sharon) Webber of Scottsdale, AZ; sister-in-law, Sharon Kusmierzcak of Brockport, NY; brother-in-law, Steven (Susan) King of Middleport, NY; and mother-in-law, Isabelle King Schultz of Medina, NY; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Royalton-Hartland High School in 1968. He worked for five years for the Village of Middleport Police Department. He moved to the Niagara County Sherriff's department in December, 1978 and retired in April, 2007. He served as a dispatcher, Sergeant on the road patrol, and retired as Technical Sergeant of the radio communications room. He was a member of the Middleport Fire Department for 49 years, serving as First Aid Captain and Chairman of the Board of Directors. He also served as Chairman of the Zoning Board for the Village of Middleport. He owned his own business, Doug's Auto Repair and Painting, and enjoyed working on cars. Douglas loved boating, fishing, hunting, bowling, and most of all attending his grandson's sporting events and activities.
The family will be present on Tuesday, September 5th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Bates, Wallace, and Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport, NY, and on Wednesday, Sept 6th from 10-11 AM at the Middleport United Methodist Church, 5 Park Ave., Middleport, NY, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM. Burial will follow the service at Hartland Central Cemetery.
