Edith Funkhouser

Barker: Our Beloved Mother, Edith Funkhouser, passed away on her 96^th birthday. She was born February 3, 1927 in Smyrna, NY to the late Rolland and Ola (Byrd) Tredway.

Edith’s happiest moments were together with her children, and family. She was a wonderful loving mother, kind and gentle soul who will always be missed.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert Funkhouser on February 29, 1972, five siblings, Reba, Mamie, Mattie, Robert and Daniel.

Edith is survived by her children, Judy (Lewis) Stevenson, Gary (Robin) Funkhouser, Susan (James) Gancasz, Deborah (Joseph) Huefner, Christine (Marcus) Ray, grandchildren, Douglas, DeAnna, Adam, Erin, Andrew, Jenny, Danielle, Tammy, Michelle, Hollie and Heather, and several great-grandchildren.

Edith’s family will receive friends at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home 38 State St. Middleport, NY 14105 on Monday, February 6^th from 2:00-5:00pm. Edith’s funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 133 Telegraph Rd. Middleport, NY 14105 on Tuesday, February 7^th at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Hartland Central Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Edith’s name may be made to the church.
