Obituary of Edward J. Ball (Kent) Edward J. Ball age 71 died September 27, 2018 at the Martin Linsin Residence. He was born August 2, 1947 in Batavia, a son of the late Harry and Mary (Munger) Ball and had lived in this area most of his life. Ed was a US Army Veteran of Vietnam and had spent 24 years in the service for this country receiving the Purple Heart, the Good Conduct Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. He was a member of the Sheret Post #35 American Legion of Albion, the VFW Post #4635 of Albion and the Walter Klein Post #532 American Legion of Warsaw. He was a private pilot for over 27 years and had retired from Lapp Insulator in LeRoy where he worked as a Mill Wright for many years. Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a lifetime member of the Oatka Fish and Game Club in LeRoy. He is survived by his wife Kim; son Steven Ball of Batavia; his daughter Tamela (Jeff) Ball-Morrow of Elba; granddaughters Brianna and Alyssa Ball; brothers Michael (Lila) Ball of Batavia, Ronald Ball of Batavia; sisters Carol (Joe) Grasso of Batavia, Constance(Joe) Faruch of FL, Cheryl(Jeff) Walshof Alexanderas well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave. Albion, NYon Wednesday October 3rd 3:00pm-5:00pm where his service will follow at 5:00pm followed by full Military Honors. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
