Edwin Winkley

Obituary of Edwin Winkley Went into rest on February 13, 2017 in Gasport after a long illness. He was born February 5, 1937 to the late Raymond and Mabel (Wienke) Winkley. Beloved husband of Ada (Eckerd) Winkley.
Cherished father of Lori Gabrys (Gary) of Gasport, Debra Winkley (Darrin Moreland) of Middleport, Lisa Smith (Donald) of Greeley, CO, Edwin Winkley Jr. (Dawn Klos) of Middleport, and Karen Punch (Michael) of Middleport.
Edwin was an exempt fireman of the Middleport Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time with his family, air shows, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed building model airplanes. He was a proud veteran who served our country in the United States Army. Edwin retired from GM in 1991, worked there for 37 years.
Brother of Harold Winkley (Emily) of Lockport. Predeceased by his brother Robert Winkley. Survived by ten grandchildren, Daniel (Lexi), Heather (Kevin), Jori (Sean), James (Ashley), Megan, Hallie, Emily (Andrew), Michael (Gina), Jessica (Scott) and Quinn (Julia). And eight great-grandchildren, Alayna, Morgan, Andrew, Luke, Landon, Bryson, Jackson and Brynjar.
Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will be present at the Middleport Fire Department 28 S Main St, Middleport, NY 14105 on Friday from 4:00-6:00pm to receive friends, where a funeral service will be held at 6:00pm. Burial will take place at Hartland Central Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
