Obituary of Eleanor L. Hazel Barre: Eleanor L. Hazel age 81, died November 12, 2013 at The Villages of Orleans. She was born September 24, 1932 in East Pembroke NY a daughter of the late Norman and Flora (Simpson) Muntz. She was a member of the Barre Center Presbyterian Church and a former employee of Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital. Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to Arts and Crafts shows and traveling with her husband Merle.
She was predeceased by her husband Merle. She is survived by her children, Linda (Donald) Wilkins of Albion, Carl (Linda) Hazel of Albion, Kevin (Dawn) Hazel of Albion; 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Roy (Evelyn) Muntz; sisters, Gladys (Vinny) Hartwick, Dorothy Plowe, Linda (Bob) Bowman, Shirley; several nieces, nephews, cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue Albion, Thursday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00, where her Funeral Service will be held Friday at 11:00. Private interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans, P.O.Box 489, Albion NY 14411. Visitation
