Obituary of Elinor L. Rutenberg (ALBION/PT. KENT, NY)
Elinor L. Rutenberg, age 89 formerly of Albion, died 2/21/2014 in the Champlain Valley Physician's Hospital in Plattsgburg with her family at her side. She was born 12/5//1925 in Hector Falls, NY to Joseph and Anna(Preston)Horvath and had lived in the Albion area for over 62 years. Mrs. Rutenberg was a member of Holy Family Parish, was an avid reader and enjoyed scrapbooking as well as stamp collecting. She enjoyed working on the computer and surfing the internet, too. Elinor was a teacher having taught Kindergarten at St. Mary's Catholic School in Holley prior to teaching in the Albion School System for 21 years. She was a past President of the Business and Professional Women's Club, having started the 1st International Exchange Program for that organization. In her spare time she also volunteered for the Orleans County Office for the Aging. Mrs. Rutenberg was predeceased by two infant children: Elinor and Johnny, a sister, Donna Ambeau and her husband Thomas in 1963. She is survived by her sons: Thomas(Karen)Rutenberg II of MN, Charles(Lynn)Rutenberg of CO, her daughters: Patricia(Martin)Adduci of Lime Lake, NY, Laurie(Jeffrey)Reynolds of Pt. Kent, NY,12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, THURSDAY APRIL 10th from 4-7 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial FRIDAY APRIL 11th at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Parish. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Palliative Care Program at Champlain Valley Physician's Hospital in Plattsburgh or the Make a Wish Foundation. Visitation
