Obituary of Elmer C. Wagner, Jr. (MIDDLEPORT) Elmer C. “Junior” Wagner Jr., age 90, died May 9,2018 in Medina Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Wing following a long illness. Junior was born February 19,1928 in Alabama, NY to Elmer (Sr.) and Vera (Garrison) Wagner and had lived in Middleport for over 65 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish-St. Stephen’s Church where he served as caretaker of the church building as well as helping out at St. Stephen’s Cemetery. He was also a member of the Middleport Exempts, continuing his service to the community following his retirement of working for the Village of Middleport for over 20 years. Elmer enjoyed hunting, repairing old furniture and spending time with his grandson Keith. Mr. Wagner was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth who he married June 9, 1951, and his sisters: Carol Schubel and Lois Ayler. He is survived by his son: Richard (Carolyn) Wagner of Middleport, his daughter: Julie Wagner of Lockport, his siblings: Betty Pafk of Akron, Frances BenBen of Medina, Esther (Richard) Brown of Middleport, Richard (Joanne) Wagner of Batavia, Nancy Forbes of Lockport, his grandson: Keith Wagner of Queensbury, NY as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State Street-Middleport, SUNDAY from 4-8 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend Junior’s Mass of Christian Burial MONDAY at 10 a.m. in St. Stephens R.C. Church in Middleport. Interment will be in St. Stephen’s cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O.
