Obituary of Elsie Ella Cooper LaPort Elsie Ella LaPort (Cooper) age, 91, of Lockport, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Care Facility. Born May 9, 1923 in Hartland, NY, Elsie is the daughter of the late Scott P. and Ida Mae (Howes) Cooper. Elsie married Floyd LaPort January 14, 1964 in North East, PA. Mr. LaPort died November 23, 2004. Elsie worked at Delmonte in Lockport as a production worker. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles, ceramics and needlepoint and was a member of the Lockport Alliance Church and the Hartland Conservation Club. Surviving are her children: Roger (Janet) Cooper of Olcott and Bonnie (Kenneth) Lewis of Lockport. Stepmother of: Douglas LaPort of Newfane, Joyce (Jeff) Roberts of Vero Beach, FL and Kevin LaPort of Newfane. Elsie is the dear grandmother of several grandchildren and aunt to several nieces and nephews. She is survived by one sister: Dorothy Kinne and was predeceased by siblings: Clayton, Clifford, Benjamin, Franklin, LaVerne, Marjorie, Marian, Florence and Donald. She is also survived by a close friend: Jerry Stefanski of Lockport and the love of her life, her cat: Elroy. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport, on Thursday, February 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 11:00 am with the Reverend Kevin Robison officiating. Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery, Gasport, NY.
