Obituary of Emerson Floyd Barnes Emerson Floyd Barnes, age 79, of Sanborn entered into rest on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport. Born December 21, 1934 in Gowanda, NY, Emerson is the son of the late Wilson and Marguerite (Hoffman) Barnes. Emerson married Donna Bennett July 7, 1956 in Middleport. They have been married for 57 years. Emerson served as Chief at the Niagara Air National Guard Base for 46 years and was senior enlisted advisor to the General at the NY Air National Guard. He served our country in the Air National Guard actively serving in Korea during the Vietnam Conflict. Emerson was an avid woodworker/furniture maker in Mission Style and had lived in Sanborn since 2009 preciously of Lockport. Surviving is his wife: Donna May Barnes; children: Deborah (Paul) Parise, Karen (Ron) Sellers, Sandra (Carl) Rebman and Keith (Sharon) Barnes; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and siblings: Robert Barnes, Sharon (John) Roy and the late Wilson Barnes and Jane Van Buren. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home 4521 Main Street, Gasport, on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 3-7 pm. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 11:00 am with Reverend Rodney Klinzing officiating. Burial will be in Huskey Cemetery, Gasport, NY.
