Obituary of Esther Vincent Esther Catherine (Woods) Vincent, age 98, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Newfane Rehab and Heath Care Center. Born March 14, 1920, in Amherst, NY, Esther is the daughter of the late William and Alice (Bradley) Woods. Esther married Stanley Vincent on October 24, 1942, in Newfane. Mr. Vincent passed in August 1992. Esther worked at Fisher Price in Medina, retiring in 1990 after 19 years and was a member of the Toy Club retirees of Fisher Price. Esther was a certified EMT for Tri-Town Ambulance in Gasport and volunteered there for many years. She was a member of Cheer Rebekah Lodge #588 of Newfane, serving as Past Noble Grand and also Past Noble Grand of Districts 1 and 2. She was also a member and past President of Gasport Chemical Hose Auxiliary, Hartland United Methodist Church, Hartland Conservation Club and the Long Bow Archery Club in Medina. She loved to ride motorcycles, even riding with her husband all the way to Texas. She also loved to travel and attend craft shows and to watch her husband Stanley pitch horseshoes in his many tournaments. Esther is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Lou Sharpe, and grandchildren, David (Kim) Short, Catherine Miller, and Allen (Conny) Sharpe; great grandchildren Ashley (Erick) Short, Jolene Dixon, Heather (John) Simmons, Christopher Vincent Short II, Samantha (Jeremy) Hejza, Brian (Amanda) Kropp Jr. and Zachary Short; great-great grandchildren Janelle and Janae Dixon, Skylar and Hunter Kropp, Vincent A. Simmons and Kaylee Hibbard as well as several nieces and nephews. Esther is also predeceased by her grandsons, Vinnie Short and Warren Sharpe and her brothers, Arthur Woods, William Woods and Russell Bradley. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport, on Sunday, December 9, 2018, from 1- 4 pm. Funeral services will be held immediately following. Interment will be at Acacia Park Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Tri-Town Ambulance are appreciated.
