Obituary of Eugenia Thom Albion: Eugenia Thom, age 95, died December 31, 2016 at The Villages of Orleans. She was born September 4, 1921 in St. Mary’s PA. a daughter of the late Leonard and Matilda (Neubert) Henry. Eugenia had lived in this area for 68 years and was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church. She enjoyed feeding birds, gardening and embroidery work to be given to family at Christmas. Eugenia was an avid and wonderful homemaker who will be remembered as an extremely good cook. The family would like to say thank you to the staff in the dementia wing at The Villages of Orleans for the excellent care given to Eugenia.
She was predeceased by her husband, Elden Thom in 1997; brother, Patrick Henry and sister, Helen Weidow. Eugenia is survived by her children, Clifford (Mildred) Thom of Albion, Frances (John) Tower of Albion and Elizabeth Cowan of Brockport; grandchildren, Clifford (Tara) Thom, Michele McAllister, Mark Tower, William (Erin) Tower, Stephen Cowan and Scott (Andrea) Orton; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Chalot and many nieces, nephews, cousins.
The family will receive friends Thursday January 5, from 11:00-1:00 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue Albion, followed by her Funeral Service at 1:00 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Family Parish, 106 S. Main St. Albion, NY 14411 or Hospice of Orleans, P.O. Box 489, Albion, NY 14411.
