Obituary of Evelyn J. Coke Evelyn Coke, age 84, of Lyndonville, entered into rest Tuesday, March 5th, 2013 at the home of her daughter & son-in-law, Thea "Dolly" and John Butcher. Born October 2, 1928 in Queensville, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Verne & Minnie Dorothy Hodgins. The family came to the USA on February 9, 1930.
Evelyn graduated from Lyndonville High School and married the late Louis Coke in 1946. She was a homemaker for most of her adult life, raising seven children. She worked at Yates Community Library for more than 20 years, retiring in 2003. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed watching birds at the feeders, and seeing deer, fox and other wildlife on "the hill". She had many friends whom she dearly loved and who loved her too.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Lou in 1987, and two brothers, John Vincent in 1945 and Roy LeVerne in 2001. She is survived by 7 children, Steven (Karen) Coke of Panama City, Florida, Linda Helsdon of Lyndonville, Donna Quatro of Rochester, Laurie (Larry) Gidley of Medina, John (Darcy Brabon) Coke of Lyndonville, Cameron Coke of Lyndonville, Thea "Dolly" (John) Butcher of Albion; three siblings, Elinor (Dave) Crandall of Middleport, Bill Hodgins of Lyndonville, Theresa (Pete) Organo of Santa Maria, California; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
